Niwot High of Colorado had five scorers among the first 20 finishers and all eight athletes place in the top 35 in the boys sweepstakes race to capture a second team title in three years with a 47-127 victory against ThunderRidge from Colorado at the Desert Twilight Festival at Toka Sticks Golf Course in Mesa, Ariz. Rocco Culpepper covered the 5-kilometer layout in 15:11.1 to take second, Quinn Sullivan finished fourth in 15:17.4, Cole Mazurana captured 15th in 15:36.9, Evan Kear (15;44.7) and Hunter Robbie (15:47.5) were 18th and 19th, Christopher Wood grabbed 24th in 15:50.3, Gavin Engtrakul achieved 27th in 15:53.5 and Sammy Jackman earned 31st in 15:57.4 for Niwot, which triumphed in 2021 at The Links Golf Course in Queen Creek, Ariz.
