Yohanes Van Meerten, a freshman at Northland Prep Academy in Arizona, finished fifth in the boys sweepstakes race by covering the 5-kilometer layout in 15:18.4 at the Desert Twilight Festival at Toka Sticks Golf Course in Mesa, Ariz. Northland Prep placed 25th overall as a team with 526 points.
