Junior Jason Lundgren of Cactus Shadows in Arizona won the boys varsity large school 5-kilometer race in 16:22.85 at the 14th annual Desert Twilight Festival at The Links at Queen Creek in San Tan Valley, Arizona. Lundgren helped Cactus Shadows finish fifth overall with 212 points.
